Les Faules de Lepòrida presents a speculative narrative set in a dystopian future where Moià becomes the habitat of a fantastical fauna. Using images extracted from the historical archive of the village, artist Ali Arévalo constructs a visual fiction in which history transforms and mutates into a new reality that takes on a life of its own. Doors of various sizes and materials, along with altered curtains, open to new dimensions, while light and sand subtly inter- vene in the space, creating an atmosphere of constant transformation as the hours pass.

The Pollo Matapuces, a character from Moianès folklore, is transformed into a hybrid of rabbit and human, a figure that, like the ancient Phoenician goddess Astarte, blurs the boundaries between the human and the animal, prompting a reflection on interspe- cies imaginaries. To become a rabbit will grant them the power to move through time in order to transform the dystopia into a utopia.

Arévalo, in collaboration with Alejandra G. López and Elisa Soto, uses artificial intelligence to alter the images from the historical archive, turning them into a fantastical dystopia. In this process, magic, fantasy, and mysticism emerge as tools to chart new eco- feminist paradigms and address ecological collapse. “Les Faules de Lepòrida” invites us to reimagine our world, to break the con- ventions of time, and to discover new forms of coexistence in an uncertain future, free from all temporal linearity.
